After years of keeping the peace, holding back opinions, or silencing desires to avoid conflict, many women in midlife are ready to speak up. But it can feel scary to use your voice after so long.


Midlife is the perfect season to reconnect with your truth and let it be heard.

Why We Lose Our Voice


  • There are a few reasons why women in particular may "lose"our voice. It can be cultural conditioning to be "nice"


  • It can be lost in the sense of women are often in caretaking roles which means that they are prioritizing others needs over their own equally valid needs. They get so use to it they " forget" to speak up.

  • There can also be the general fear of rejection or judgment if you share an opinion.


Steps to Reclaim and Use Your Voice


  1. Identify Your Truth

    • Spend time journaling about what you really think and feel. Practice honesty with yourself first.

  2. Start Small

    • Speak up in safe spaces first: with trusted friends or journaling. Build confidence gradually.

  3. Use "I" Statements

    • Say: "I feel…," "I need…," or "I believe…" to own your truth without blame.

  4. Practice Boundaries and Brave Conversations

    • Use your voice to set limits and express your needs clearly.

  5. Trust Your Wisdom

    • You’ve earned your voice through experience. Let it be heard.
