Give yourself a well deserved treat without spending any money.

It’s great to be able to treat yourself, every once in a while, but maybe we can do it more often.

We may tell ourselves it's "a treat" but perhaps it's simply self care. Self care is something which is essential for our wellbeing.

And if possible, we should try to include a little bit of self care into our everyday routine.

Some women have a hard time treating themselves. Do you ever think -"Why is it hard for me to treat myself?"

Often through society norms women are expected to put others first, especially in their care giving roles. Eventually, they get out of the habit of looking after themselves.

Another reason, women may not treat themselves is the thought of it costing too much.

If you didn’t have to worry about a budget would you treat yourself more regularly?

Let's make this easier with some guilt free treats ideas.

The only thing you really need to do is make the time and make yourself a PRIORITY.

Know that you deserve to treat yourself!

Here are 13 ways to treat yourself without spending money.

  1. Take a walk. Walking is free and is also great exercise. Get out for some fresh air and explore new areas of your neighbourhood.

Or perhaps - a walk in the park or at the beach?

Maybe you prefer to walk alone using it for "me time" or you can make it more social and go with friends.

  2. Call your favourite person. Most calls nowadays are included in your phone plan so low cost or free. Have a laugh and catch up with your favourite person.

  3. Take a siesta. Treat yourself to an afternoon nap to recharge your batteries. Give yourself extra time to just relax. This is something we often save for our holidays but can you fit it in now and again? Listen to your body. You deserve this. You’ll be more refreshed and energised for the rest of the day.

  4. Local attractions. Is there anything on in the local area which is free? Events. Art Gallery. Community Events. Sometimes these things are at our doorstep but we just don't look out for them.

  5. Window shopping – it costs nothing to look. What do you fancy - maybe it's checking out new cars, clothes, arts and crafts? It may get you thinking what your next treat is that does cost something to buy.

My favourite is holiday shopping online - looking at all the fabulous destinations, beaches, hotels, activities and adventures to be had. Just taking some time out to daydream and imagine can be inspiring and get you planning and excited to make this a reality.

  6. What about getting creative? Not necessarily going out any buying expensive equipment or paints. What about things you may have around the house that you could use. You could do some sketching, write a song or a some pages towards a book.

  7.  Music is brilliant for shifting your mood. Listen to your favourite song. Think of a song(s) which has great memories for you. Give yourself an emotional boost and get it on. Maybe have a little dance too. Get those endorphins going.

  8. If you already have the internet - then check out the many crosswords, challenges and games, you can play online. You can play by yourself, with friends or others online. This can be fun way to spend some time without spending any money.

  9. Sunrise or Sunset? Both are free. Which is your favourite?

  10. Make your favourite snack or dessert. This works if you already have the ingredients at home, so you don’t have to spend any money. But treat yourself. Free up some space in your fridge. Enjoy it guilt free.

  11. Watch your favourite TV show.

  12. Give yourself a manicure / pamper/ pedicure? This is great DIY self-care for a guilt free treat.

  13. Take a bath and relax!

Hope this post has given you some food for thought of free (or very low cost) and fun ways to pamper yourself.
